As a part of Citec’s digitalisation activities, we have developed a solution called Citec 3DEncore for enabling user-friendly and easy view on 3D engineering models and related data through web and virtual reality (VR) interfaces. The next development phase of Citec 3DEncore has been initiated in order to enable digital twin capabilities in the tool.
What is a digital twin then? A digital twin is a digital representation of a real-world entity, like for example a power plant. The digital twin of a power plant shows the power plant in digital format exactly as it is built, its current operational status and how efficiently it is performing. With Citec 3DEncore, Citec has the base platform available to provide digital twin capabilities to our customers. As part of the digital twin project Citec is partnering with companies who have specialised in operational data collecting of a power plant and in performing predictive data analytics based on it. Furthermore, Citec 3DEncore is interfaced with different source systems to be able to show documentation related to engineering projects, spare part information and other relevant project data.
