Citec Engineering has received three major orders from its customer Transtech in March. The three orders are worth approximately 7 MEUR. Citec will deliver engineering services to Transtech in following projects;
- new generation restaurant coach, (end customer VR, Finnish railways)
- driving (push-pull) coach, (end customer VR, Finnish railways)
- new low floor tram, (end customer HKL, Helsinki City Transport).
The background for the first two projects is that Citec’s customer Transtech Oy and VR Group have signed supply contracts on delivery of 12 driving coaches and 15 restaurant coaches during the years 2013 and 2014. The contracts include options for deliveries of 13 driving coaches and 11 restaurant coaches.
Furthermore, HKL has chosen Transtech as the supplier of their new trams. In the first stage 40 trams will be procured for HKL. The new trams are scheduled for test runs in winter conditions in Helsinki by end of 2013, before the serial manufacturing start in 2014.

Our recruitment efforts now continue with full speed – we will double the personnel in Oulu from about 20 to 40 by the autumn”, says Ralf Wallin, Business Area Manager, Citec Engineering.
