Process

Tailor-made solutions for you

Citec’s Process Engineering ensures plant functionality from a process and economical feasibility point of view. Our process engineers are included in the conceptual, basic and detailed engineering phases. Specific requirements are considered to fulfil your plant output and process requirements.

We have experience of process engineering since the 1990’s and have solid competence in multi-disciplinary plant engineering.

Smooth design process

With harmonised use of tools and way of working, we can offer you top-quality process engineering throughout the plant lifecycle.

The selected process and equipment are presented with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), piping lists, valve & instrument lists, main flow diagrams, datasheets and calculation reports. The plant control is described in process descriptions, functional descriptions and logic diagrams. The plant design is verified with mass and energy balance calculations as well as pressure drop simulations.

Preliminary cost estimates with ThermoFlow

We use ThermoFlow to make preliminary evaluations of space requirements and cost estimates for the included equipment as well as the overall plant.

The ThermoFlow package consists of both application-specific and fully flexible design programs. The application-specific program enables efficient and fast comparison of various power production solutions both in design and off-design operation. The fully flexible program can be used for modelling a broad range of thermal systems, with emphasis on power generation and cogeneration.

Citec captures carbon

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), carbon capture and storage (CCS) is an essential factor to achieve substantial global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction in the most cost‐effective manner. To meet critical target of 2°C above pre-industrial levels, IEA estimates that 3,400 CCS plants will be needed globally by 2050.

Citec conducted an advanced CCS feasibility study in Oslo, Norway with the objective of finding the best way to capture CO2 at an existing plant without significantly impacting the existing operation.
