Floris van Straaten has been appointed General Manager of Citec Saudi as of January 1, 2017.
Floris van Straaten joins Citec from a position as Regional Director Middle East, Thermal Power at Pöyry Switzerland Ltd, where he was responsible for the Thermal Energy Business of Pöyry in the Middle East.
“I am very excited to join Citec and will bring in my regional, business development and project delivery experience to help Citec succeed in the ME region”, says Floris van Straaten. “Although the market environment in the Middle East is challenging, I think Citec has excellent opportunities to grow here because of its service portfolio. The region is transforming and Citec can play an important role in this transition by delivering quality projects with a combination of global and local resources.”
Floris is from the Netherlands and holds an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universiteit Twente. “Floris brings in strong Middle East business development experience, existing customer relationship network and contacts to Citec Saudi. This is important in order to get off to a flying start for Citec’s Saudi business,” says Sakari Koivuniemi, Director, Oil & Gas.
