Outotec, a global leader in minerals and metals processing technology, has started employee negotiations to outsource part of its German-based project engineering activities to Citec. The target is to transfer approximately 70-80 Outotec employees to Citec.
“By outsourcing part of our engineering activities we will create more flexibility to our organization and decrease Outotec’s fixed costs in the long run. Citec is a suitable partner for us as they have already presence and an existing customer base in Germany and Finland and excellent references”, says Kalle Härkki, Head of Outotec’s Metals, Energy & Water business unit.
For Citec, the outsourcing supports a fast growth in Germany, as well as a further strengthened engineering competence for equipment and plant industry. In addition to the German operations, Citec’s global units provide Outotec engineering and project management services, as well as technical documentation services, for their projects worldwide as needed.
“Citec’s Outsourcing and Partnership Concept meets companies’ extensive requirements. We are committed to deliver Outotec the highest level of engineering services with flexibility, through our global operations model via Europe and India, and our local presence close to our customer”, says Martin Strand, CEO, Citec.
Citec Germany targets to double its number of employees to approximately 140 through the outsourcing. Citec is in the process of establishing a new office in Frankfurt.
