Project description

The Boxberg Power Plant was originally started in 1966 and in 1979 the power plant had a capacity of 3520 MW. Since 1992, the power station has continuously been modernized in order to fulfill the environmental requirements. Boxberg Block R is the latest in this development. The total investment for KW Boxberg, Block R, is 1,4 billion €. Boxberg Block R delivers 675 MW of electricity at 43,6% net efficiency. Due to the new technology and highest environmental standards used up to 40% less CO2 is produced. The plant is scheduled to be completed by 02/2011.

Citec's scope

The Citec scope consisted of detailed design of piping for the intermediate and low-pressure steam systems. Citec delivered all the drawings and material lists for the ordering, pre-fabrication and installation of all the piping, pipe supporting and secondary steel structures for pipe supporting. Citec also delivered all the necessary documentation required by the standards and notified body i.e. stress and flexibility analysis of piping, drawings, stress analysis of steel structures, pressure drop calculations etc.
