Project description

The customer wanted to secure optimised and cost efficient solutions for their floating storage regasification units (FSRUs). Citec was selected to provide seven modules, and tailor-made solutions for each module. The customer wanted the solutions to take full advantage of reuse possibilities of the engineering effort, and Citec created the most optimal and cost effective solutions.

The four most recent projects were for the end-customer Höegh LNG, who ordered four FSRUs from Hyundai Heavy Industries. The Regasification modules are provided by Hamworthy/Wärtsilä. The first vessel will be delivered to PGN offshore Sumatra, Indonesia, the second to Port of Klaipeda in Lithuania. For the third vessel there is a preferred bidder for Quintero bay, close to Santiago in Chile. The forth vessel is made generic for future customers.

Citec's scope

Citec’s services included module layouts/area engineering and documentation control for the Regas modules. Each module is around 700-800 tonnes with an approximate size of 20 x 30 meters. The projects were executed by M7 Offshore, a Citec Group company.
