Project description

The customer built a diesel engine manufacturing unit in Penza, Russia. The whole project consisted of engine assembly and engine testing facilities in a Greenfield environment.

A challenge facing the customer in this project was that the project involved parties of different cultures, speaking different languages. The involved parties were also used to different norms and standards and a different way of working.

The units planned for in the project: production building, warehouse, assembly line, test-run facilities, control room,  office areas. Also a fuel-treatment house and tank yard, fire pumping station with water storage tanks and a guard house is included.

Citec's scope

Citec’s local presence on the market and knowledge of Russian design standards was a key factor for helping the customer overcome communication challenges.

Citec Engineering Russia LLC was the General Designer of the project for all disciplines including technological design for assembly process and test-run process containing services such as:

  • pre-project stage
  • authority approval support
  • tender drawing stage
  • working drawing stage
  • authors control during construction work.
