Tomorrow, on June 5th, we celebrate the World Environment Day.
Citec follows the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and is committed in ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (Goal 7). We aim to build resilient infrastructure and to promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation (Goal 9). Our aim is to make cities and communities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (Goal 11). We are also committed in taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Goal 13) and to protect ecosystems and halt biodiversity loss (Goal 15).
As of 2021 the focus is on proactively bringing sustainability solutions to our design in the customer projects. We target to proactively influence on air emissions, effluent discharges, waste arising, land contamination, use of resources e.g. water, fuel and natural resources and materials. We will aim to provide more environmentally sustainable solutions such as modular design, optimised material usage in our design and transportation to sites as well as digital solutions to our customers.
Regarding our own impact opportunities, we focus especially on energy efficiency of our facilities. We aim to reduce energy consumption in our rented facilities per square meter and to reduce the actual square meters. Our target is also to reduce the usage of printed paper as well as waste management.
We also avoid unnecessary travelling as well as continuously improve the procedures to support our policy.
