Wärtsilä Gas Systems, located in Asker outside Oslo, has awarded Citec Norway two new area engineering contracts within FSRU LNG systems. The new contracts will come into effect immediately and will further add strength to Citec’s capabilities within both marine and land-based LNG.

Wärtsilä Gas Systems have delivered a number of LNG regasification modules with additional utility skids for Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs). Citec has previously participated in seven of these regasification modules plus a number of the smaller skids. Citec’s scope has included engineering of piping and structural design (“area engineering”), 3D design, equipment & piping modelling, pipe stress calculations, structural calculations as well as piping & structural fabrication drawings.

One of the new projects is for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd with Höegh LNG as shipowner. This is vessel 6 in a series of fairly identical regasification systems for Höegh LNG. The other project is also to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, with the Gazprom subsidiary Gazpromflot as end client. This unit will be designed for cold temperatures in the Baltic Sea area of the Kaliningrad region.
